20/09/2009 Thirteen Cadets Complete Bronze Qualifying Exped Updated by : Flt Lt Duncan  on  25/09/2009
Congratulations to the 13 cadets who completed their Bronze qualifying expedition last weekend. Two groups from Dudhope and a group from Leuchars Sqn took part in the venture which took place in Fetteresso Forest (near Stonehaven). The cadets discovered that navigation is not always straightforward, with all groups taking wrong turns at some point and adding extra distance to their routes.

Cadets now have until the end of October to produce a written report covering the purpose of their expedition.

Well done to the following cadets (Group 1): Cpl David Rennie, Cdts William Cuthill, Kyrin Ross, Kris Hall, Alistair Nicholson, Shaun Black, Adam Hindmarch and (Group 2): Cdts Michael Niven, Derick Grant, Nicole Sweenie, Amy Jardine, Iona Young and Alison Birtles.

(Photos will follow when somebody figures out which app is required to get them off of his iphone:-)

06/09/2009 D.of E. Silver Qualifying Exped Completed in Challenging Weather Conditions Updated by : Flt Lt Duncan  on  08/09/2009
Last weekend, 8 cadets completed their DofE Silver Qualifying Expedition in what could only be described as 'extreme' weather conditions. In fact, due to the dangerously high water levels in many streams, their original route that took them from Braemar via the Lairig Ghru and Glen Tilt to Blair Atholl, had to be modified on their 2nd day for obvious safety reasons. Despite the additional challenges, all cadets successfully completed the expedition in good time and good spirits. Congratulations go to Cpls Adam Brown, Gregor Moodie, Nick Neil, Paul Scott, Kirsten Whyte, Heather Young and Cdts Greg Herron and Sam Sharma.
