2450 (Dudhope) Squadron was formed on the 05 September 1966 and moved into its current HQ on the 17 November 1969.

 

The Squadron’s First Camp was to RAF Wattisham in 1966.

 

The Squadron has had 8 Squadron Commanders since its formation. They are listed below:

 

Flt Lt T D Reid - 1966 to 1968

Flt Lt S Anderson - 1968 to 1971

Flt Lt R Watt - 1971 to 1977

Flt Lt G M Welsh - 1977 to 1988

Flt Lt N A McLaren - 1988 to 1995

Flt Lt P Mathieson - 1995 to 2004

Flt Lt B E Barron - 2004 to 2005

Flt Lt G P Wallace - 2005 to Present Date

 

The amalgamation of 2400 Sqn (ATC) Lawside and 2450 Sqn (ATC) Dudhope took effect on the 01 January 2004.

 

The Squadron has recently won the Scotland and Northern Ireland Region Efficiency Competition for 2007 and will now go on to represent the S & NI Region in the Lees Trophy.

 

The Squadron is made up of 6 Officers, 1 WO, 2 Adult Sgt, 3 Civilian Instructors, 1 Service Helper, the Sqn Padre and 49 Cadets.
